Pharmaceutical Society successfully hosts strategy review workshop

The Pharmaceutical Society of Papua New Guinea (PSPNG) successfully hosted a two-day consultation workshop recently in Port Moresby.

The workshop brought together PSPNG members and pharmacists from across all sectors, including private pharmacies, NGOs, public health programs, hospitals, supply chain as well as the National Department of Health (NDoH). Together, participants reviewed the Society’s Strategic Plan and Constitution, reflected on governance practices, and aligned on key priorities to strengthen pharmaceutical service delivery under the National Health Plan (2011-2030).

Key highlights included:

✅ Presentation and review of the Strategic Plan (2019–2024) Review Report
✅ Collaborative input into the PSPNG Strategic Plan 2025–2030
✅ Section-by-section review of the PSPNG Constitution
✅ Presentation of the Governance Manual Draft
✅ Dialogue on leadership, elections, roles, and member conduct
✅ 🎉 Official launch of the PSPNG website – a major milestone for transparency, accessibility, and sector-wide communication

We sincerely thank Australia for the continued support for PSPNG through PNG-Aus Partnership and for supporting this important workshop. PSPNG also extends gratitude to all participants and partners for their invaluable contributions and looks forward to continued collaboration in strengthening the pharmacy profession.
