Pharmacy students are an integral part of the growth and advancement of the pharmacy profession in Papua New Guinea. PSPNG provides several resources to support pharmacy students throughout their academic and professional journey. Below are some key resources, including upcoming internship opportunities, scholarships, and other educational support:

Internship Opportunities

Currently, PSPNG does not directly provide internship placements for pharmacy students.

PSPNG aims to look out with key partners to make these opportunities available to pharmacy students in the future.

Scholarships and Financial Assistance

PSPNG, in partnership with CPL Group, will provide a Grant Sponsorship Program for pharmacy students in year 3-5  starting in 2025. This initiative will support eligible pharmacy students with financial assistance to further their education and professional development. The program will be aimed at students who show outstanding academic achievement and a commitment to pursuing a career in pharmacy.

Details on how to apply for the grant, including eligibility criteria and the application process, will be provided in the coming year. Students are encouraged to stay connected with PSPNG for updates on this exciting opportunity. (Application will be made online via this website)

For more information on available scholarships or how to apply, please contact the PSPNG office at [Insert Contact Information].

Student Membership and Networking

PSPNG advocates for clear and effective regulation of pharmacy practice in PNG. We have worked closely with the Pharmacy Board of PNG to ensure that professional standards are set and maintained, and that pharmacy licensing requirements are transparent, fair, and in line with international standards. Additionally, PSPNG is actively engaged in advocating for CPD to become a prerequisite for pharmacist license renewal, ensuring that all practicing pharmacists maintain competence throughout their careers.
