The Pharmaceutical Society of Papua New Guinea hosted its’ Fundraising Gala Dinner last Saturday at the Gateway Hotel in Port Moresby.
Present at the fundraising event where individuals and business houses together with society members and medical professionals who turned up to show support for the event.
PNG Inter-denominational Women’s Empowerment Movement (PNGIWEM) led by Evangelist Julie Gamenu Yamis and National President Anna Tubuio-Veratau were part of the celebrations for the World Pharmacist Day Fundraising Gala Dinner.
According to Evangelist Julie, PNGIWEM continues to support such worthy causes as these platforms contribute to health and wellbeing of the country as a whole.
“With our focus being on serving and reaching the unloved and the poor and the desolate, we will continue to stand behind organizations like the PNG Pharmaceutical Society and stand together to rally support in serving suffering humanity.”
“One of the main aims of PNGIWEM is to serve widows and orphans and so by supporting this fundraising dinner, we are indirectly reaching out to those that desperately need our help,” Evangelist Julie said.
National President Anna Tubuio-Veratau expressed gratitude in attending the event as it was a first of its’ kind for a full team from PNGIWEM to take part in a corporate fundraiser of such and is optimistic and looking forward to further opportunities of supporting humanitarian causes.
The PNGIWEM believes that reaching out to the lost and the needy is not only done through physical means but through meeting the spiritual needs as well as that in itself is the main focus of its’ movement and work.
With the support of individuals, business houses and organizations like the PNGIWEM, the Pharmaceutical Society is able to raise much needed funds to continue to carry out its work in serving the people of Papua New Guinea.
This year, the theme for the World Pharmacist Day is “Pharmacy – Always trusted for your health”
